Tree Registration
Your investment is safe and you are protected in a number of ways by the laws of Costa Rica.
First and foremost you are assigned a 25 year lease on the land your trees are planted on. This lease is yours and yours alone. No one else has the right to sell, re-let or use the land for any purpose other than that which you and you alone expressly give written consent for.
Secondly, under Costa Rican law any crops on land are considered a separate legal asset to the land. All of your trees are registered to you or your beneficiary, therefore you have legal title to each and every tree on your land. You and you only have the legal right of instruction for dispersement, displacement, planting, harvesting etc. For the record, the US Inland Revenue Service (IRS) allows these investments as part of a tax protected pension portfolio. They consider individual tree title as sufficient security to protect the investor. GGS S.A. not only offer you, the investor, the same security afforded to US pension funds, but further protects you by arranging a 25 year lease on the land your trees are planted on.
